Manor of Noriūnai

The manorial farmstead with a park of 10 ha has survived up to nowadays.
The manor in historical documents was first mentioned in 1665. It was owned by the noblemen of Lithuania, Tiškevičiai, Tyzenhauzai, Oginskiai, and Komarai. At the end of the 19”1 century the manor was rebuilt with the help of local artisans. The ensemble of the manor consisting of the edifice, residence of servants, household premises and the park is a monument of statė significance. An interesting fact is that in the 17th-18th centuries there used to be a breeding ground of horses of the species called Žemaičiai.

Kamarai estate in Paulianka

Noblemen Kamarai from Padniestre immigrated to Lithuania in 1481. Descendants of Mykolas Kamaras who found their homes in Palevene in 1645, lived in Paulianka till WWII. Nowadays, the buildings of the XIX century Romanticism were given back to the descendants of Kamarai.

Downhill Village homestead for tourism

This is a hotel type contemporary homestead of „4 Storks” (4 stars) with ethnographical elements. It / was established in the reservation area of the local landscape, on the bank of Viesinta stream in July
7, 1999. Homestead holds ten double-rooms with all accommodations.
The owners of the homestead await visitors, who love calmness, quietness, privacy and sincere

Church and Monastery of Palėvenė

The oldest monument of architecture in the area of Kupiškis is the ensemble of the church and monastery of Palėvenė where black friars settled in 1676.
The baroque church was founded by Mykolas Laurynas Počebutas and his wife Marijona, whose remains were buried in the noblemen crypt in the cellar of the church. In the late 18th century the well-known Lithuanian architect Laurynas Stuoka-Gucevičius studied in Palėvenė, where a seminary of black friars and a parish school have been established in the vicinity of the monastery. The church with the monastery is the sole example of the late Baroque style in Aukštaitija.

Grave of the Actress Unė Babickaite

The Lithuanian actress Unė Babickaite, who starred in silent Hollywood films, American theatres in New York anįVVashington, was buried in the cemetery of Palėvenė.

Terpeikiai Oak

5 kilometers northeast from Subacius there's an old village of Terpeikiai that was first mentioned in historical documents in 1596. A big two-meter in diameter natural monument oak grows in Jonas Jecius homestead.
Twice Olympic and World Champion disc thrower Virgilijus Alekna spent his childhood in this village.

Cross for guerrillas of Subacius uprising

In postwar resistance of gunfight vortex 86 fighters for freedom of Subacius region were killed. If we go to Panevezys, near the village of Subacius station, on the bank of Viesinta stream, we can see a cross, whitch shows the graveyard of the 86 fighters who died in the gunfight.

Cross ensemble in the village Stracniai cemetery

In the cemetery of the village Stracniai (close to the train station of the village) there' s acroos ensemble erected for those who died in the fight for Lithuanian freedom. The Ensemble constitutes of 8 crosses with 67 names on them.

The Church of Subacius train station

St. Pranciskus Asyzietis church, made of wood, was built round the year 1884.

Grain warehouse – ”Magazinas”

In the stone warehouse, standing in the center of Subacius village, people of the settlement used to keep their grain. ”Magazinas” was built of rocks round 1856.

Chapel of Sulcai family

The eye of an inquisitive visitor in Asiuklyne street of Subacius can be attracted by a chapel built by Subacius resident Aleksas Sulcas in 1889, who used to live there. While the village of Subacius had no church people of the congregation used to meet in the chapel for May mass.

St. Trinity church in Subacius village

The church of romanticism and baroque style was built in 1884. It is big and spruce and eclectic.
